I agree with Jenna Ecklund, if you have the symptoms and are getting sick DO NOT  let it run its course, GO TO THE HOSPITAL for treatment. I had severe viral meningitis last year and had to stay in the hospital 11 days for treatment. Without that I could have died or been left with more serious complications than I have been. I'm  still working on it. Viral meningitis is far more serious than people think, even doctors sometimes.
Yes, I was starting to talk nonsensically by the time it was considered!

spiritfinder123 · August 12, 2018 at 2:06 pm

yes, complete blood count, and comprehensive panel..that swab up the brain(ha) no he didn't do that, I asked for it for the flu. I knew the spinal tap had to be done( had one before-oh how painful),,thanks for the reply. Yes, my neck is getting worse..stiff on the right side worse?

Jenna Ecklund · August 12, 2018 at 2:06 pm

By CBC do you mean 'complete blood count'? They did a spinal tap on me and found very high levels of white blood cells. The normal range was 0-1000, and I had 224,000. I also had a fever of 104.1. They did a nasal swab (feels more like a brain swab) to rule out the flu. I don't know what to tell you. Is your neck really stiff?

My brother was got menengitis, and then he got encepilitis. he almost died, but a prayer chain kept him going 🙂

I just spent 30 days in the hospital with viral meningitis and encephalitis. I was first misdiagnosed with the flu and sent home, only to be rushed to the ER 3 days later. I wouldn't tell anyone to let it run it's course. I almost died.
